Taitung。Crossing and Connecting Taiwan and South Island Cultures。International Photo Exhibition
The sound of the shutter captures the life of the people of the South Island
When the shutter is pressed, the eyes captured at that moment reveal a story - perhaps a silent conversation between the descendants of ancestors who migrated many years ago and the aboriginal people of Taiwan. By carefully observing, we can find their similarities, differences, and connections.
The "Eyes" are a window to the soul, "seeing" the face, life, spirit, clothing, beauty, connection, and outlook as the theme of the exhibition. Upon entering the exhibition venue, you will see the "Eyes" plane, which echoes the theme of the exhibition. A continuous linear structure represents the "Möbius Ring," and the plane implies the navigation line, creating a topological structure with only one surface and one boundary. The beginning is the end, following the law of an infinite loop. Starting from the entrance, deliberately shrinking and then enlarging, we enter the circular space, gradually reading and understanding the culture of the South Island. Walking along the wood flooring and the slow slope combined with the circular form, the smooth arrangement of the movement line, and the division of the exhibition area naturally leads the direction of the viewer, using infinite symbols. The wood flooring, steel columns, display boards, and upper steel frames are constructed from the bottom upwards. The modularized design of the components takes into account the convenience of disassembling and assembling, providing maximum usability according to the needs of different venues in the future. It also represents the possibility of communication between Taiwan and the world of the South Island in different environments.
